Upcoming Events

As with any scheduled event, some events may have to be rescheduled due to weather or other situations. At anytime if one of our scheduled events has to be cancelled or rescheduled notification will be sent to all of our GS Troop 6841's scout families.

Going Green!

Girl Scout Troop 6841 wants to do our part to 'GO GREEN'.  By 'going green' we will be trying to go as paperless as possible.  This means we will be posting events, activities, newsletters and other important information on our website.

E-mail is a great method of communication, and our Troop relies on e-mail to get the word out about upcoming activities and events.  We will also be sending out emails often.

Some of our Troop e-mails come from individual committee members, and others are automated event reminders sent through our website.

Please make sure that your  leader has your most up-to-date email address on file so you don't miss out!

Our automated emails reminders will be sent about 48 hours prior to any scheduled event to all of our scout families.

For those interested in joining Girl Scouts, please contact us for more information. You can contact us at

2020 Cookies

The Girl Scout Cookie Program is the largest girl led business in the country and generates immeasurable benefits for girls, our council and communities throughout Central Illinois. Many successful businesswomen today say they got their start selling Girl Scout Cookies!

The Girl Scout Cookie Program is a great way to fund troop service projects and troop activities. Girl Scouts will learn valuable life skills as they work together to reach team and individual goals.

Digital cookie allows girls to take their cookie business to a whole new level! The Digital Cookie platform helps prepare girls to be leaders in the fast-paced e-commerce world of today. With this new and innovative online sales approach girls can customize the way they learn and earn by using technology in a whole new way and earning a variety of badges along the way. Girls can customize their own webpage, learn digital design skills, send marketing emails to neighbors and friends; and they can even reach customers around the country.

Operation Cookie Share and the Fall Product:

Adopt-a-Soldier programs were started in 2011 as a give-back program to our military women and men at home and abroad. Girl Scouts ask their customers if they would like to contribute a box of cookies or donate to our military men and women. These programs demonstrate the power and hearts of our Girl Scouts and our community.

To date the program has provided over 1.5 million dollars’ worth of cookies, fall product and magazines to our heroes.

Scout Sunday and Scout Sabbath

Girl Scouts was started in 1912 and is still going strong! The Girl Scout Birthday, March 12, commemorates the day in 1912 when Juliette Gordon Low officially registered the organization's first 18 girl members in Savannah, Georgia.

Girl Scout Sunday is a day when Girl Scouts across the United States will attend church service in their uniforms. It’s a day to share and celebrate everything we represent with our church communities.

The majority of Girl Scout troop meetings are held in church properties. No matter the denomination, churches have a long tradition of being supporters and facilitators of Girl Scout troops across the nation.

Girl Scout Sunday is celebrated on the Sunday March 12th or the Sunday before March 12th.

The Girl Scout Sabbath will be celebrated on the Saturday following March 12th. Girl Scout Sunday and Sabbath is a great day to celebrate who we are and share what we do with our community.

Girl Scout Troop 6841's 2018 Bridging Ceremony

Bridging is an important transition in a Girl Scout's life. It's a defining moment when a girl becomes aware of her achievements and is ready for new adventures and responsibilities. Celebrating this change should be fun, personalized, and memorable for everyone involved. And most of all, it should be designed by the girls in true partnership with adults.

Bridging ceremonies usually take place at the beginning or end of the Girl Scout year and can have three parts:
• Opening: Guests are welcomed and the tone is set.
• Main Section: The ceremony is explained and the girls celebrate moving from one level to the next.
• Closing: Girls can participate in friendship circles and thank their guests.

Each of the ceremony's parts offers plenty of room for the girls' creativity and individuality. The ceremony should always focus on paying tribute to Girl Scouts as they move forward.

Placement of Flags at Camp Butler

Girl Scout Troop 6841 will be participating in placement of flags out at Camp Bulter National Cemetery in May.  More information will be available as the date gets closer.

This is held the Saturday morning before Memorial Day.  We should be done within about an hour depending upon how many different groups comes out to help place flags

Girl Scout Troop 6841
